Dear Parents,

We have our bake sale this week!! Each student needs to bring in 24 individually wrapped snacks by Wednesday 10/23.  All the proceeds from the sale directly benefit our classroom.  We are still in need of  two parents who can work the bake sale on Thursday 10/24 from 8:30—10:30. Please contact me as soon as possible if your are available to help.  Thank you so much for your support!

Our Veteran’s Day Celebration will be on Friday, November 8th.  In the afternoon we will be doing our traditional assembly and parade to celebrate our wonderful veterans.  The parade will begin at 1:00 and the assembly will be shortly after around 2:00.  Students are allowed to dress up in red, white, and blue to celebrate on 11/8! I would love parent volunteers to help us get ready for the parade and also walk with us that morning.   Please let me know if you are interested!  Don’t forget we also have a whole school dance party that day following the assembly!!

A cultural sharing project will be sent home this Friday with all instructions included.  Please keep an eye out for it.  It will be due the week of November 18th. (11/18)  Each student will be assigned a day to share their heritage with our class.  On their day they will share their project, and also bring in a dish from their culture for all of us to taste.  Please make sure to send in enough food for all 24 children to try your cultural dish.  Parents are welcome to attend.  The sharing will be from 1:00—2:00. Please make sure their sharing page is also ready on their assigned day.  Please let me know of any concerns or complications you may have.  I’m looking forward to their wonderful projects and tasting their yummy food!

On Tuesday November 26th, we will be doing Thanksgiving rotations with the class next door.  This is a mid-morning event from 8:30—12:00.  We will be needing a lot of parent/ grandparent volunteers for this event so please contact me if you or another family member are available to help that day.  We will also be needing supplies donated..  There will be more details coming soon, so please add this date to your calendar.

Calling all BOX TOPS!  If you have a collection of box tops at home please send them in this week.  Box tops are found on the boxes of participating companies products.  They can be cut out and sent in to the school to help us raise money.  If you don’t collect them already, this is an easy way to support LFCS.

As you can see November is a busy month with several opportunities to volunteer.  Please calendar these events and let me know as soon as possible if you are available to help! Thank you for your support!

Have a great week!
